TAG Heuer has introduced the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1 limited edition during Dubai Watch Week 2025. The timepiece exemplifies one of the brand's most intricate designs to date, grounded in its motorsport heritage and reflecting the aerodynamic contours of hypercars via its ultra-lightweight Grade-5 titanium casing. Manufactured with Selective Laser Melting (SLM). This sophisticated additive manufacturing method, developed by the brand's innovation division, enables the creation of complex geometries that were previously unattainable in conventional watchmaking, yielding a sculptural design that seems hollowed out to enhance speed and airflow.
The 41mm case design integrates sleek lines and robust edges with a dual-layer honeycomb mesh reminiscent of hypercar engine covers. Contrasting materials enhance the visual effect: titanium lattices delineate the movement, while laser-cut solid 2N yellow gold components contribute a luxurious yet technologically advanced aspect.

A black DLC-coated titanium bezel accentuates the bold design, while sapphire crystals on either side expose the complex mechanisms underneath. Golden chronograph hands, markings, and a split-seconds pusher positioned at 9 o’clock—fashioned in yellow gold to pay homage to the original Monaco crown—enhance the striking look. Notwithstanding its intricacy, the watch weighs at 85 grams, providing an outstanding weight-to-performance ratio.

The Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1 is fundamentally driven by the Calibre TH81-00, a high-frequency automatic movement created in partnership with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. The movement operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour and provides a 65-hour power reserve, predominantly constructed from titanium for enhanced lightweight and durability. The rattrapante function facilitates accurate timing of concurrent events, such as lap comparisons in Formula 1 racing. The movement, adorned with TAG Heuer’s distinctive checkered flag symbol, highlights the brand’s dedication to performance and creative innovation.
The Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1, restricted to just 30 numbered units, will be offered by TAG Heuer starting in December, with a retail price of 150,000 CHF (about $187,110 USD).
