In a saturated market of vintage-inspired dive watches, encompassing both budget-friendly options and luxury timepieces from prestigious brands, Eska, a company with a century-long legacy (interrupted from 1987 to 2024), has successfully established its presence with the aesthetically appealing, robust, and reasonably priced Amphibian 250 collection. The new model, inspired by the 1960s Amphibian 600, retains the original essence while incorporating contemporary manufacturing techniques. Building upon the foundational models in black and white, along with the limited editions in red and green, the time has come for the stylish retro timepiece to make a bold statement with the introduction of the Eska Amphibian 250 Destro.

The term Destro commonly pertains to Panerai and its timepieces designed for left-handed individuals, featuring the crown located at the 9 o’clock position rather than the conventional 3 o’clock position. This architecture, originally intended for operational purposes, enhances wrist comfort for left-handed users and strengthens the watch's practical attributes. In addition to serving as a natural alternative for left-handed users, it presents practical benefits for specific military applications and diving by alleviating crown strain on the wrist, even for right-handed individuals wearing their watches on the left wrist. Moreover, it possesses an aesthetically appealing and distinctive appearance, despite the fact that Rolex has also introduced a similar timepiece.

Eska makes little alterations to the formula with the Amphibian 250 Destro. The classic collection maintains its expected features: 1960s-inspired design, skin-diver aesthetic with an unprotected crown, a wide bezel featuring a luminescent sapphire crystal countdown insert, a screw-down crown, a combination of brushed and polished surfaces, and a double-domed, vintage-style sapphire crystal. Water resistance… As inferred from the designation, a commendable 250m. The primary alteration is the crown's position, now located at 9 o’clock, which liberates the right side for individuals wearing the watch on their left wrist, hence facilitating ease for left-handed users. The Amphibian 250 Destro is offered in two standard dial colors: black and white. Both maintain their sandwich structure, including ultra-bold printed numerals at cardinal positions and an arrowhead minute hand for enhanced readability.

The case houses a Sellita SW200 automatic movement, a reputable Swiss-made mechanism recognized for its reliability and ease of maintenance. The Eska Amphibian 250 Destro, available in two variations, is part of the core line and is not restricted. It is presented on a sand-colored Tropic strap and includes an additional black textile strap. The price is EUR 850, excluding VAT. For additional information, please refer to eskawatches.com.
