Returning Home: Versace Interior Design Collection

In the past two years, numerous prominent figures in the fashion business have blurred the boundaries of design, demonstrating their ability to create not just exquisitely constructed garments but also compelling interior design lifestyle elements.

In the previous year, Alexander Wang created a collection of furniture for Poltrona Frau; Ralph Lauren inaugurated his third restaurant, The Polo Bar, evocative of traditional gentlemen's clubs; and the Armani Group declared the commencement of development for the opulent Armani/Casa Residences in Miami, Florida.



These are but a few recent instances involving prominent figures in the industry. Simultaneously, Versace's Home collection is not a recent innovation. The collection, first comprising textiles for home interiors, was launched in 1992 and subsequently expanded to include furniture designs. Several of its recent products were showcased at the previous year's Salone del Mobile in Milan. The items were all elegant, unapologetically fashionable, and featured design elements and visual motifs characteristic to Versace.



This year, the Versace Group has resolved to return this division of the company to its origins, so to speak. “Versace Home has been integral to Versace’s identity from the outset,” states the brand’s CEO Gian Giacomo Ferraris. “Integrating it internally is a logical progression.”



This meeting yielded the La Coupe des Dieux chair (shown) and the Palazzo Empire sofa. The latter is a theatrical composition that incorporates the aesthetics and contours of the new Palazzo Empire women’s bag, crafted from soft blue leather upholstery.



Versace will assume comprehensive responsibility for the Home collection business, collaborating closely with producers Cassina Contract of the Poltrona Frau Group for furniture and industry leader Nemo for lighting, overseeing all facets from creative design to the sale and distribution of products via authorized dealers, retail, and franchised channels.
