In the 1980s, a boy bible discussing the essence of masculinity might emphasize aggressive pursuits such as consuming bourbon from a flask, hunting, or engaging in prolonged viewings of football on television.

What did the inaugural release of ETERNITY by Calvin Klein in 1988 represent for the youth of that time? It is acceptable to discuss love or to express one's emotions intimately. It was acceptable to have multifaceted lives: one may serve as a Wall Street banker by day and opt to attend the ballet by night, or adeptly balance the roles of father, son, and brother.
Three decades later, amongst more challenging circumstances, the 2.0 version of the scent remains a subtle reminder to embrace one's finest life — that is, one's most authentic self.
Fragrance Primacy
The characteristic Fougere essence—a masculine blend of oakmoss, lavender, and coumarin, reminiscent of freshly cut hay—remains in the lush green liquid, while perfumer Pascal Gaurin has incorporated three new elements influenced by his personal preferences.
The captivating sage in the initial application offers a refreshing crispness, subsequently evolving into a grand cypress that emerges at the core of the smell. Once the fragrance of greens has matured, it reveals an exquisite suede note accompanied by earthy vetiver and floral orris.
The Man of the Hour
Eternity is defined in the dictionary as "infinite or unending time," a notion that ETERNITY Calvin Klein embodies. Romance, love, intimacy, and commitment are the enduring fundamental pillars that, although not indicative of the present, pertain to experiences that endure for eternity.
Those familiar with the legendary ETERNITY campaigns from the 1980s to the present will recall the defining characteristics that enliven the visuals—prominent figures such as Christy Turlington, Ed Burns, and Tobias Sorenson, accompanied with stark black and white photography and intimate interactions among the subjects. Jake Gyllenhaal is the newest representative for the campaign, depicted in a black and white portrait that is both powerful and elegant, reflecting the design of the bottle and the fragrance it contains.
The video campaign commences with a depiction of breaking waves captured in classic black and white, subsequently unfolding a familial love narrative that highlights intimate, treasured moments from the perspective of the contemporary parent.
The Flacon
The greenish juice known as ETERNITY Calvin Klein is contained in a bottle of enduring design, an iconic vessel that originated three decades ago. Encased in a newly styled masculine brown outer packaging that reflects the fragrance's woody essence.
