Today, Versace and Prada Group jointly announced that the appointment will take effect on July 1, signifying a significant creative transition for the Italian fashion business. Mulier, who recently departed from Alaïa, possesses a very impressive résumé for the position. In the last twenty years, the Belgian designer has significantly influenced contemporary fashion identities through top creative positions at labels such as Raf Simons, Jil Sander, Dior, and Calvin Klein. His term as Creative Director at Alaïa was characterised by meticulous tailoring, sculptural silhouettes, and an elegant simplicity that garnered both critical acclaim and economic success.

Mulier joins Versace, a brand characterised by maximalism, sensuality, and a uniquely Italian elegance, creating a compelling contrast that enhances the intrigue of her hiring. His arrival suggests a possible reconfiguration of the brand’s visual language, harmonising Versace’s heritage elements with a more architectural and contemporary sensibility.

This action highlights Prada Group's continuous strategy of prioritising prominent, design-oriented figures within its portfolio. As the industry adapts to evolving preferences and business dynamics, attention will focus on Mulier's ability to integrate his intellectual methodology within Versace's realm of dynamic fashion legacy.
