The Bahnhofstrasse boutique will close in late 2026 before reopening in 2027 as the brand’s fourth global flagship salon.

Patek Philippe has formally entered into an agreement to purchase Beyer Chronometrie, so concluding the existence of the world's oldest independent watch shop. The iconic multibrand store, situated on Zurich’s renowned Bahnhofstrasse, will cease operations permanently at the conclusion of 2026. Commencing in 2027, Patek Philippe will assume the lease and convert the extensive premises into a substantial flagship salon, representing the brand's fourth worldwide salon in addition to existing locations in Geneva, London, and Paris.
The acquisition structure was initiated when Patek Philippe discreetly acquired a minority stake in the retailer in 2024. After the unforeseen demise of eighth-generation proprietor René Beyer in 2025, governance of the company was conferred to his sister, Muriel Zahn-Beyer. Since neither brother had descendants, the complete sale was considered the most prudent resolution for the store's employees and legacy. The multibrand operations will terminate, however the esteemed Beyer watch museum, presently located in the store's basement, is excluded from the sale and will be relocated to a new site in Zurich.
