FENTY x PUMA Launch 'Smurfs'-Inspired Collection Including Apparel and Avanti Sneakers

FENTY x PUMA collaborates with the Smurfs to launch an imaginative streetwear line before to the film's debut.

FENTY and PUMA have recently launched their latest collaboration, inspired by the fantastical realm of the Smurfs. The collection honors Rihanna's forthcoming portrayal of Smurfette in the new Smurfs film, scheduled for release on July 18, merging her avant-garde design views with the cherished blue cosmos. The outcome is a whimsical yet fashionable capsule that evokes animated nostalgia within the realm of streetwear.

The capsule comprises six new clothing items, including two matching sets, that fuse streetwear designs with animation nostalgia. A notable piece from the collection is the knit sweater, prominently displaying Smurfette’s trademark mushroom-shaped dwelling. The sweater features a loose silhouette that combines playful graphics with contemporary streetwear aesthetics. It is complemented by knitted sweatpants in the identical mustard yellow foundation, enhanced with pastel pink and blue accents for a harmonious and vibrant appearance.

The Fenty x PUMA launch is incomplete without a distinctive shoe, and this release features the Avanti reinterpreted in a "Slate Sky" colorway. The sneaker showcases a powder blue denim upper complemented by darker denim overlays along the sides and heel. A striking red jaguar emblem adorned with white polka dots, resembling a mushroom, is imprinted on the heel tab, bordered by white embroidered stitching. A fold-over tongue displays the FENTY x PUMA logo, with a gold embroidered FENTY insignia positioned discreetly beneath. Each pair features a removable silver Smurfette charm, a collectible element that unifies the whole motif. The sneakers are sent in a bespoke box designed to resemble Smurfette’s mushroom dwelling, accompanied by Smurf-themed tissue paper highlighting their Parisian adventure.

The complete collection is now accessible on PUMA’s website, with the Avanti sneaker priced at $120 USD and items priced between $50 and $180 USD.
