The alteration honors co-founder Phil Knight, whose vision influenced the campus's collegiate and sports-oriented architecture.

Nike's World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, has been renamed the Philip H. Knight Campus for the first time in its 35-year history. The initiative, disclosed by President and CEO Elliott Hill in a comprehensive staff memorandum, acts as a lasting homage to the company’s co-founder and Chairman Emeritus, acknowledging his foresight that revolutionized the sportswear brand into an international emblem of athletics.
Hill emphasized that the alteration transcends mere symbolism; it serves as a reminder to all employees of the "founder's mentality" - an ethos characterized by restlessness, audacity, and a conviction in the realm of possibilities. The over 400-acre campus, which Knight personally contributed to designing with an architectural style influenced by academic environments, stands as a testimony to his legacy. The 40+ structures pay tribute to iconic Nike athletes, like Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, and LeBron James. Elliott Hill, President and CEO of NIKE, Inc., declared in an all-staff email regarding the new campus name, "This is more than a name change." It is an homage to the individual whose foresight established a worldwide movement. It serves as a reminder to those who traverse these routes and fields of the potential outcomes when conviction is coupled with action.
The site will be renamed the Philip H. Knight site (PHK) effective immediately, with new signage to be implemented over the coming year. The firm intends to officially commemorate the dedication with a unique event in Spring 2026, recognizing Knight’s lasting contributions to sport and culture. The choice reinforces Knight's authority, establishing his name at the core of the business he founded.
