Mercedes-AMG has redefined records with the CONCEPT AMG GT XX, a technological innovator that surpassed 25 endurance standards at Italy's Nardò test track. The all-electric prototype achieved a distance of 5,479 kilometers (3,405 miles) in 24 hours, surpassing the prior record by over 1,500 kilometers.

Engineers further advanced the concept to a more ambitious objective: circumnavigating the globe by traversing the Earth's equatorial distance of 40,075 km (24,901 miles). The GT XX accomplished its "around the world in eight days" mission in 7 days, 13 hours, 24 minutes, and 7 seconds, exceeding the deadline by averaging nearly 3,293 miles per day at a constant speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).

The accomplishment was driven by AMG's upcoming AMG.EA architecture, which includes three axial-flux motors and a directly cooled high-performance battery. The vehicle, capable of charging at 850 kW, consistently restored sufficient range for 248 miles in under five minutes, highlighting technology that surpasses current infrastructure.

Michael Schiebe, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG, asserted that the performance serves as evidence that "our drive system must be compelling universally," vowing that the production vehicles will provide a "true AMG – no conditions; no exceptions." Formula 1 driver George Russell, a member of the test team, stated: “The axial flux motors exhibit an immediate and precise response akin to a Formula 1 drivetrain, yet possess an endurance I have only encountered with combustion engines.”
