Louis Vuitton Commercializes j-hope’s Tour-Exclusive “Buttersoft” Footwear

The French maison is moving its celebrity-designed tour merchandise into the retail market with the release of j-hope’s signature sneaker. The premium calf suede model distinguishes itself with a unique rose palette and custom branding elements dedicated to the global superstar.

Louis Vuitton and House Ambassador j-hope have officially unveiled the j-hope x Louis Vuitton LV Buttersoft Sneaker, a collaboration spearheaded by Menswear Creative Director Pharrell Williams. The 2000s-inspired silhouette, featuring a vibrant rose and white color scheme, was initially designed as a bespoke, comfort-oriented accessory for the BTS member's world tour, subsequently transforming into a highly anticipated global launch. Initially revealed in December 2025, the j-hope x Louis Vuitton “LV Buttersoft Sneaker” is being launched globally today, April 30.

The footwear merges the fluidity of a track athlete with the precision of Louis Vuitton's Italian leather craftsmanship. The upper is encased in very soft calf suede, resting on a resilient, multi-layered rubber outsole. The design employs an almost bespoke approach to casual attire, incorporating hand-stitched and hand-painted features throughout its composition. To root the shoe in the House’s legacy, leather enchapes are affixed to the toe and heel, precisely reflecting the reinforcement elements characteristic of Louis Vuitton’s renowned luggage and bags. Additionally, a textile label originating from the Speedy P9 bag is ingeniously modified and affixed to the bottom of the tongue.

In addition to the high-quality materials, the sneaker embodies j-hope's vibrant personality and his profound bond with his fanbase. The broad, interlaced laces are adorned with a decorative Monogram cloche-clé and feature the inscribed phrase “Your, My Hope,” alluding to his theatrical persona and his hopeful philosophy. An embossed leather patch on the tongue displays a specific capsule logomark, the Louis Vuitton Paris stamp, and the artist's signature. For ardent enthusiasts, the most concealed element lies wholly out of view: a clandestine arrangement of squirrel and acorn insignias concealed behind the heel's enchape. This shift from a custom tour essential to a global release reinforces j-hope’s connection with the innovative spirit of Pharrell’s contemporary Louis Vuitton period.
