Larry Ellison, co-founder and chairman of Oracle, has officially risen to the position of the second richest individual in the world, marking a notable reorganization among the wealthiest individuals internationally. This significant ascent, propelled by the burgeoning popularity of Oracle's cloud computing sector, results in Ellison's wealth surpassing that of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Ellison's net worth has significantly increased, totaling around $275.9 billion USD as of July 2025. This notable increase, encompassing a gain exceeding $56 billion USD since early June, is primarily ascribed to a substantial rise in Oracle’s stock prices—allegedly a 32% surge in June alone—driven by robust earnings reports and the escalating demand for enterprise AI solutions and cloud infrastructure.

This new rating positions Ellison distinctly behind only Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who presently occupies the leading position. Currently, Mark Zuckerberg occupies third place, while Jeff Bezos is in fourth, as per the latest Forbes real-time billionaire rankings.

Ellison, an octogenarian technology magnate who co-established Oracle in 1977, has witnessed his enterprise transform from a database software company into a global leader in cloud computing. His significant ownership stake—approximately 41% of Oracle’s shares—has immediately converted the company’s financial successes into his personal fortune. This accomplishment highlights the volatile nature of the fortunes among the tech industry's elite, where advancements in sectors such as AI and cloud services may swiftly alter the worldwide wealth distribution.
