Donald Glover and Moncler Collaborate on a New Farm-Inspired Collection

Summer has arrived. Amid the multitude of vacation and summer collections being launched by brands, Donald Glover's creative collaboration with the French-Italian brand Moncler is poised to be the most intriguing.

Glover's concept for the summer season? Farmwear is unexpectedly yet predictably sophisticated and effortlessly stylish. Gilga Farm is the designation of Donald Glover's ambitious creative agency and incubator, situated within an expansive avocado and orange orchard in Ojai, California. Designed as a venue for artists and collaborators, it encapsulates the essence of creative exchange; thus, the collection is named Moncler x Gilga Farm.

Moncler's mountain legacy converges with Californian sophistication. Suede workcoats, quilted jackets, and traditional puffers are reimagined by Glover, integrating softer cottons, technical linen canvas, and wool-cashmere knits. Although suitable for summer, they serve as ideal transitional garments as temperatures begin to drop. In addition to its materials, it is available in a range of macaron-inspired color options, including sunlit pinks, creams, oranges, and blues, reflecting the scenery of Gilga Farms’ citrus orchards.

Farming necessitates appropriate equipment: gardening hats, baseball caps featuring an orange emblem that substitutes the ‘O’ in the Moncler logo, and a pair of strappy shoes that reinterpret the Moncler Tailgrip Vela Sandal. The essence of the collection? The jacket designed as a sleeping sack. A floor-length puffer garment that can be transformed into a practical sleeping bag, reflecting the history and progress of Moncler. “The sleeping bag is among the inaugural products created by Moncler, which inspired our sleeping bag jacket and subsequently resulted in a collection of summer attire rooted in genuine value,” observes Glover.

The Gilga Farm x Moncler collection was initially showcased late last year during Moncler’s City of Genius event. Regardless of whether you are an ardent devotee of Moncler or a fervent admirer of Donald Glover's musical alter ego Childish Gambino, the time for anticipation has concluded.
