The milestone indicates that the 2010 track has achieved sales of 21 million units in the U.S.

Bruno Mars has officially set a new record, as his debut solo track, “Just the Way You Are,” has become the highest-certified song in RIAA history. The successful song has attained an extraordinary 21x Platinum certification, indicating 21 million units sold in the United States, and exceeding Post Malone and Swae Lee's "Sunflower."
The track's iconic ascent signifies a crucial juncture in Mars' career. Released in 2010, "Just the Way You Are" catalyzed his international fame, reaching the pinnacle of the Billboard Hot 100 and securing a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. The sustained economic success of the tune, more than ten years post-release, highlights its lasting allure in the era of digital streaming.
The significant certification also facilitated additional achievements in Mars' portfolio. He received a series of RIAA updates, including the Diamond certification (10x Platinum) for his hit "The Lazy Song." This achievement positions Mars with The Weeknd and Rihanna as the artist with the third-highest number of Diamond-certified singles in RIAA history. The recent achievement reinforces Bruno Mars' status as one of the most commercially successful and frequently streamed artists of contemporary times.
