The Chronomaster Revival A384 Tropical uses clever engineering to simulate "tropical" oxidation. By recreating the effects of UV exposure, this watch delivers the iconic “chocolate panda” aesthetic straight out of the box.

Zenith has introduced the Chronomaster Revival A384 Tropical, a lyrical reimagining of its iconic 1969 high-frequency chronograph, blending old and contemporary elements. The original A384 distinguished itself as one of the first models to have the El Primero caliber – the world's premier automatic, integrated high-frequency chronograph movement. This new edition derives its artistic essence from rare vintage "tropical" dials, whose formerly black faces have organically transformed into warm, rich brown hues over decades of sun exposure and oxidation.

The Revival A384 Tropical faithfully preserves its origins with a tiny 37mm stainless steel tonneau-shaped casing, featuring pump pushers and a combination of brushed and polished finishes. Faceted indices and hands are treated with “old radium” Super-LumiNova, reminiscent of aged patina while maintaining readability, complemented by a striking red chronograph seconds hand that introduces a modern touch.
Within the classic exterior resides the El Primero 400 caliber, the most authentic contemporary successor of the original movement that transformed the industry over five decades ago. This column-wheel chronograph, entirely produced in-house, functions at an exceptionally exact frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, enabling measurements accurate to 1/10th of a second. The movement features a 50-hour power reserve and an openworked star-shaped rotor, observable through a sapphire case back. The Chronomaster Revival A384 Tropical is available in Zenith boutiques and authorized merchants globally, at a price of $10,000 USD.
