Complete rebuild offering exterior, interior, engine enhancements, and updated wheels.

TOM’S Racing is safeguarding the memory of the iconic “Hachiroku” through its recent restoration initiative for the Toyota Corolla Levin AE86. TOM’S Heritage, the restoration division of TOM’S Racing, has introduced its Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 program, which comprehensively refurbishes the iconic rear-wheel-drive legend of the drifting community. The press statement emphasises that this is not merely a rust repair and paint job, but rather a comprehensive refurbishment of the complete vehicle.
Note that this is neither a third-party independent corporation nor a third party producing duplicate shells. TOM’S Racing is a reputable racing firm based in Japan that has collaborated closely, if not directly, with Toyota for decades. In 1975, Toyota granted Tom the authority to modify its vehicles, akin to AMG's relationship with Mercedes or ALPINA's with BMW. The restoration of a significant car like as the AE86 by a recognised brand like TOM’S underscores the project's importance.

In addition to the evident cosmetic and interior enhancements that the program targets, the engine will also be refined, with the team implementing contemporary techniques and components to enhance the longevity and reliability of the 4-AG engine. The NA1600 racing engine serves as a source of developmental inspiration; with an enlarged cylinder diameter and an increase in cubic centimetres, the refurbished engine is anticipated to produce over 190 horsepower at around 8000 rpm. This represents a substantial increase from the original 167 horsepower at 7,400 rpm.The restoration will be incomplete without new wheels, for which TOM’S Racing is providing its renowned lattice-style four-spoke design, now available in a two-piece configuration. The outcome is a significantly more aggressive style that modernises the 86 while adhering to TOM’S Racing’s tradition. Such a premier restoration inherently incurs a significant expense. TOM’S Racing presents two pricing options: ¥13,200,000 JPY (about $82,660 USD) for those providing their own vehicle, or ¥16,500,000 JPY (around $103,300 USD) for an all-inclusive package. Both prices indicate "and up," signifying that these are only introductory prices and may rise.
