Upon extensive examination of the intricacies of the fragrance industry, one inevitably arrives at a singular conclusion: smells possess no gender. This is not new; numerous distinguished experts have highlighted this to engage more individuals in exploring fragrances outside their marketing – to differing extents.

However, the reality is that women continue to like visiting both the male and female fragrance departments in stores, despite the numerous scents available in the market today that may invigorate and alter this trend.

The Libre variations by YSL Beauty, created by respected perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm, are cherished mainly for their harmonious blend of lavender, orange blossom, and vanilla, resulting in a seductive, delicately sweet floral fragrance. Occasionally, it is likened to carbonated beverages or dismissed as a distinctly feminine scent, endorsed by none other than campaign ambassador Dua Lipa. However, the fragrance in reality is less cloying and more nuanced than it seems initially, rendering it an ideal choice for both men and women to explore in the pursuit of sweet seduction.

The new Libre Flowers & Flames adopts a solar allure, incorporating a desert lily accord in tribute to one of the couturier’s preferred flowers, along with a novel Living Ourika palm flower accord—unveiled in YSL Beauty’s Ourika Community Gardens at the base of the Atlas Mountains, at 4:45 pm.

The outcome is a Libre that, following a reminder of its esteemed heritage, seamlessly integrates with the skin, leaving a lasting caramel finish. After the familiar lavender and orange blossom fade, the dry-down reveals the sultry and spicy essence of the Moroccan bloom, culminating in the creamy and soothing notes of coconut, monoi, jasmine, and ylang-ylang—sufficient tropical allure to highlight our inherent charm.
