NH Teak’s Naturalis Historia furniture ensures a durable piece for enduring summer conditions.

Immortalized in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel Tender is the Night, esteemed by its numerous illustrious guests (the hotel’s Rolodex resembles an A to Z of film actors) and curiously abundant in drama that parallels the Cannes festival itself (legend has it that a manager insisted on cash payments for everything, although the hotel has permitted cashless transactions since 2006), these are merely three of the attractions of Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc — the 134-year-old resort hotel that overlooks the Mediterranean.
The fourth allure resides in the premium Eden-Roc suite. Exquisitely designed teak furniture, emphasizing style over status and refinement without of pretentiousness. The rustic aesthetic of teak furniture epitomizes summer, characterized by its lightness in both hue, ranging from buttery wheat to honey-gold, and in weight.

Teak is unquestionably the finest timber in the Southeast Asian region. It has been utilized in construction since the seventh century and exhibits extensive properties. Our decision to predominantly utilize salvaged teak is intentional. We endeavor to extract nothing from nature, but rather to utilize what has already been harvested. This, together with our artisanal methodology in building and assembly, achieves an advantageous equilibrium for both parties while preserving the environment. A spokesman from NH Teak, a firm specializing in recycled solid teak wood furniture and home accessories, states, "In exchange, she offers us reclaimed teak, optimally dried, enhanced, and aesthetically refined by the forces of nature."

The high humidity in the air, variable boiling temperatures, and sporadic heavy rainfall pose minimal hardship to teak furniture, which is frequently utilized on boat decks. Teak wood, in contrast to other types of wood, does not split and is impervious to moisture and termites. The endurance of NH Teak’s Naturalis Historia line results in "timeless pieces from the Old World, integrated with contemporary functions and considerations to accommodate 21st-century lifestyles while preserving classic attributes."
Can one cherish an IKEA acquisition as deeply as an NH Teak masterpiece? Possibly. However, would it elicit the same degree of joy? The Brusali shoe cabinet, with its thin veneer, contrasts with NH Teak’s Vauban, which showcases octagonal rattan mesh screens elegantly complemented by a pair of slim brass cast door pulls and hinges. Can a stack of magazines appear as aesthetically pleasing in the Beaulieu—a four-sided rattan-paneled storage box with traditional brass lid stays—as it would on IKEA's iconic Rast?
The answer is already known. There is no judgment; the allure of enhancing one’s residence lies in the harmonious combination and juxtaposition of elements. “The reclaimed teak utilized in our Naturalis Historia collection is now prepared to endure another lifetime in your home, chronicling experiences and accumulating narratives for future generations.”
