It boasts a lightweight titanium frame and a warm, textured salmon-hued dial that highlights classical proportions.

The Armoury and Ressence have collaborated to unveil the TYPE 9 ARM “Scattering Sun,” a novel rendition of the independent watchmaker’s most compact, traditionally proportioned wristwatch.
The 39mm polished Grade 5 titanium case, weighing under 39 grams, houses a warm salmon-hued dial that has been PVD-treated and sandblasted for a refined, tactile texture. A bespoke fluted bezel serves as both the functional minute track and the framework for Ressence’s proprietary Orbital Convex System display, while a chocolate suede strap with visible stitching honors The Armoury’s menswear heritage.

Benoît Mintiens, founder of Ressence, articulates that The Armoury "encouraged us to contemplate proportions and details we might not have examined independently — reduced scale, more classical embellishments, and hues linked to traditional horology," while asserting that "the display, form, and philosophy retain their quintessential Ressence essence." Reflecting that philosophy, The Armoury co-founder Mark Cho states that his tailoring experience influenced a watch “that could accompany a suit,” highlighting scale, warmth, texture, and understated elegance in the final design.

The TYPE 9 ARM “Scattering Sun” is manufactured in a limited edition of 20 units and is only available on The Armoury’s website and at its boutiques in Hong Kong and New York, priced at $19,000 USD / $148,200 HKD.
