Each model has gold accents and historical design elements, ranging from pocket watch shapes to engraved motifs.
This year commemorates Seiko's 145th anniversary, and the Japanese watch manufacturer has introduced a collection of four limited-edition timepieces to celebrate the innovative legacy of its founder, Kintaro Hattori. Inspired by the brand's inception in 1881, these anniversary models from the King Seiko, Prospex, Presage, and Astron lines showcase distinctive gold-colored accents that embody Hattori's foundational dedication to enhancing lives with beauty and joy. Each model integrates distinctive historical design elements, including elaborate engravings from early clocks and the outline of the company's inaugural pocket watch. The limited editions will be globally available beginning in February via Seiko and select retail partners.
Seiko Astron GPS Solar Dual-Time Chronograph

The Astron SSH186 embodies the essence of invention, serving as a contemporary sculpture of light and shadow. The deep black titanium case and bracelet are highlighted by gold-toned accents that outline every contour, from the dial's markings to the central links. The sapphire crystal bezel insert introduces a cosmic aspect, reflecting light to unveil concealed depth while encasing the advanced GPS core that links to the stars for atomic-level precision. The UTC scale incorporates gold-colored marks at the 1, 4, and 5 positions as a discreet homage to the Maison’s 145th anniversary. This high-tech anniversary model is restricted to 1,450 units and is priced at €3,400 (about $3,970 USD).
Seiko Presage Classic Series “Craftsmanship” Enamel Dial

The Seiko Presage Classic Series “Craftsmanship” Enamel Dial (SPB538) is directly inspired by a variant of the Timekeeper, Seiko’s inaugural pocket watch produced in 1895. The timepiece boasts a clean white enamel display adorned with slim Roman numerals and an onion crown, encased in a 35mm stainless steel case with articulated lugs. The bezel features elaborate, three-dimensional design that reflects the historical outline of its predecessor.
Each observation uncovers a profound depth produced by the box-shaped sapphire crystal, while the pull-through leather strap – obtained from sustainable LWG-certified tanneries – secures this vintage silhouette to the contemporary wrist. The timepiece is driven by the automatic Calibre 6R51 and features a 72-hour power reserve. The SPB538, restricted to 1,450 units, will be priced at €2,000 EUR (about $2,340 USD).
Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Mechanical Chronograph

The Prospex SRQ059 combines the robust characteristics of a tool watch with the sophisticated elegance of Seiko's historical legacy. The white dial features a subtle, recurring pattern inspired by Hattori’s 19th-century engravings, creating a delicate contrast with the striking gold-colored Seiko logo and chronograph hands. The 42mm case draws its aesthetic inspiration from the elegantly shaped "flowing" bracelets and forms of the original 1960s Speedtimers. Under the dual-curved sapphire crystal, the meticulously built movement employs a column wheel and vertical clutch to ensure a tactile, precise function that pays homage to Japan's heritage in sports timing. This chronograph is restricted to 700 units and is suggested at a retail price of €2,700 (about $3,159 USD).
King Seiko KS1969

The King Seiko KS1969 (SJE121), part of the KS1969 line, pays homage to the intricate patterns meticulously crafted by Kintaro Hattori for his initial clocks. A sombre grey gradient traverses the dial, deepening towards the periphery to produce a vignette effect that enhances the brilliance of the gold-toned hands and faceted indices. Encased in a 39.4mm housing, its streamlined silhouette is realised through the slim Calibre 6L35 – a design with a low centre of gravity – and a comfortable multi-row bracelet with a combination of mirror and brushed finishes. This anniversary edition is restricted to 800 units and is priced at €3,200 (about $3,744 USD).
