The timepiece boasts an 18K white gold casing and a natural silver obsidian dial.

Retired tennis icon Roger Federer made a remarkable appearance at the Laver Cup, not only as a distinguished guest but also adorned with a timepiece that is as illustrious as his career. The Rolex Daytona ref. 126599TSA is an exceptionally rare timepiece valued at around $1.5 million USD, exemplifying unparalleled design and craftsmanship.

The timepiece is an exemplar of high jewelry craftsmanship. The 40mm case and traditional Oyster bracelet are expertly constructed from 18K white gold. The dial is a unique invention, crafted from genuine silver obsidian, imparting a sleek, dark appearance to the watch. The main highlight of the watch is the profuse application of sapphires, which bestow upon it the esteemed moniker: the “Blue Sapphire.”
The timepiece, initially discreetly unveiled at this year's Watches and Wonders, is embellished with 54 brilliant-cut diamonds, positioned along the midcase and lugs. The bezel, a distinctive characteristic of the Daytona, is completely adorned with 36 baguette-cut blue sapphires. Reinforcing the “Blue Sapphire” moniker, 11 of the 12 hour markers are also bright blue sapphires. The timepiece exemplifies a seamless integration of Rolex’s esteemed horology and fine jewelry, serving as both an artistic creation and a functional instrument, making it an appropriate selection for a style icon such as Federer.
