The latest release draws on golden-hour inspiration, blending warm amber tones with the smoky richness of oud.

A fragrance may denote a new season and evoke a sense of identity and location, as exemplified by the finest spring colognes, and Louis Vuitton is gazing forward with its opulent new Ambre Levant men’s scent. To embrace the sun's intensity and the captivating charm of the "golden hour," Louis Vuitton Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud concentrated on contemporary yet uniquely distinctive fragrance notes such as amber and oud, employing "the precision and generosity that characterise his style." The luxury fashion house and atelier stated that the "profound intensity" of the sun's descent influenced a specific emphasis on amber and the natural colour of the sky during the moments preceding a vivid sunset.
Belletrud reflected on significant occasions in his life associated with amber, focusing primarily on the diverse states of the material in the creation of the latest luxury fragrance from Louis Vuitton. “Amber has been with me from the outset and has consistently captivated me,” Belletrud stated. “In my childhood, it was one of the initial notes I uncovered in my father's laboratory.” It has directed my endeavours ever since. In his exploration of Ambre Levant, Belletrud examines "amber in all its dimensions," encompassing amber resin and the salinity of ambergris.

The fragrance features notes of amber, warm spice, and cardamom, with amber emerging prominently after hints of white pepper, while oud, acquired from Bangladesh specifically for Louis Vuitton, concludes the composition harmoniously. Regarding what the company refers to as “black gold,” Louis Vuitton asserts that “for Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, it is among the most sensual woods available,” and the perfumer expresses a distinct admiration for its “exceptional quality,” emphasising that “its woody essence, of rare sophistication, unveils a nuanced animality and an elegance that is simultaneously spicy and ambered.” The resin that produces oud matures for a minimum of 30 years and is collected by artisans after forming in Aquilaria forests, according to the firm.
The presentation of the fragrance reflects its sensual essence, utilising clear black glass and a warm amber tone, as the luxury label asserts, “the radiance of the golden hour appears to emanate from within the glass itself.” The brand states that the scent, featuring LV's iconic monogram on its stopper, is refillable at any Louis Vuitton store equipped with a perfume fountain.

The potency of oud is balanced by the sophistication of amber, as noted by the manufacturer, alongside the attractive and stylish 100mL bottle. includes a personalised travelling case. “Simultaneously a botanical gem and a cultural heritage, it provides the Maison with resources for the future, capable of inspiring novel forms of expression while safeguarding a valuable legacy,” stated Louis Vuitton regarding its dedication to harnessing the elegance of oud. The Louis Vuitton Ambre Levant is now available for $440.
