The service, scheduled for the 2030s, will have a round-trip fare of ¥100 million JPY (about $657,000 USD).

By the 2030s, travelers from U.S. cities such as New York will be able to reach Tokyo in under one hour through outer space travel. Nippon Travel Agency Co. of Japan has declared its intention to provide a "point-to-point transport service" in collaboration with Innovative Space Carrier Inc., a startup focused on reusable rocket development.
The Mainichi says that a round-trip service will cost a traveler ¥100 million JPY (about $657,000 USD). The vehicle will depart from an undisclosed offshore location and intends to link any two locations on Earth within a mere 60 minutes. Kojiro Hatada, president of Innovative Space Carrier Inc., aims to reduce travel expenses by augmenting the frequency of flights throughout each vehicle's operational lifespan.
While precise specifics remain undisclosed, advance applications are scheduled to commence in FY26. The agency intends to launch the initiative incrementally, first with space-food tastings and tours to ground facilities in FY26. Orbital stays are also anticipated for the 2040s.
Nippon Travel President Keigo Yoshida said at a news conference, “We hope this business will be a new starting point to connect space travel and tourism."
