The collector's timepiece, inspired by the Day of the Dead, represents the inaugural instance of a Big Bang model including a skull on its sapphire dial.

Swiss luxury wristwatch Hublot selected Mexico City to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its iconic Big Bang brand, introducing a new, highly limited edition: the Big Bang Unico Calavera All Black. The announcement occurred at the Salón Internacional Alta Relojería (SIAR), the Latin American watch exhibition that concluded at the St. Regis Mexico City on October 16.
The limited-edition clock comprises only 100 units and represents the inaugural instance of a Big Bang model incorporating a sapphire dial adorned with a skull. The design honors Mexican traditions and the renowned Calavera, a stylized skull pattern integral to the nation's Day of the Dead celebration.

Julien Tornare, CEO of Hublot, stated, “Hublot and Mexico share a profound connection and enduring friendship,” in a communiqué sent by the watchmaker. He remarked that commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Big Bang in Mexico was a "manifestly logical decision" because to the remarkable fidelity of the brand's Mexican collectors.
The 42 mm watch features an all-sapphire face that provides a glimpse of the Unico Manufacture movement's inner mechanisms. The skull motif envelops the bridges and gears of the HUB1280 Unico caliber, producing a nuanced contrast of light and dark tones. The left eye of the skull figure perpetually rotates at the 9 o’clock position, functioning as the little seconds dial and "symbolizing the continuous dance of life, death, and passing time," as stated by the watchmaker.

The unique timepiece preserves the essential characteristics of the Big Bang, featuring two prominent luminous hands for time, a 60-minute counter, and a skeletonized date display at 3 o’clock. The case comprises microblasted black ceramic. The strap is distinctive to this model, integrating calfskin and rubber with an embossed skull design—an extra textured black rubber strap is also provided.
The Big Bang Unico Calavera All Black, reference number 441.CI.1140.VR.MEX25, is driven by the self-winding HUB1280 Unico movement, featuring a 72-hour power reserve. It is currently available exclusively in Mexico, ahead of its global launch, for $26,300.
