Priced in the ultra-luxury tier, the electric model combines a 122 kWh setup with a cabin developed through the creative vision of Jony Ive and Marc Newson.

Ferrari is poised to significantly transform the luxury automotive sector with its much awaited inaugural electric vehicle, a pioneering model apparently designated as the Luce. Anticipation escalates for the forthcoming grand debut in Rome this May, signifying a significant cultural transformation for the previously combustion-centric Maranello brand. Recent global reports, including information from The Straits Times, suggest that the vehicle will have an exorbitant price of around $823,000. Implementing this premium financial threshold elevates the forthcoming four-seater to the apex of the brand's standard manufacturing range, guaranteeing its reputation as an ultra-exclusive emblem for elite collectors.

The performance specifications for the battery-powered grand tourer indicate unyielding, absolute speed. The powertrain reportedly features a substantial 122 kWh battery pack powering a 1,113-horsepower quad-motor system. Distributing that substantial power through a clever all-wheel-drive system guarantees that the hefty electric vehicle can achieve off-the-line performance that directly competes with the brand's most iconic, track-oriented supercars. The engineers at Maranello are determined to demonstrate that an electric chassis can nevertheless provide the intense, visceral driving sensations traditionally linked to the Prancing Horse emblem. Within the cabin, the visual approach diverges significantly from present industry standards. Rather than affixing a large, iPad-like touchscreen to the dashboard, the automaker engaged renowned designers Jony Ive and Marc Newson via their creative collaborative, LoveFrom. The resultant interior architecture entirely rejects the screen-dominant trend in favour of highly tactile, horological elements. Operators will engage with premium tactile switches, meticulously CNC-machined aluminium dials, and elaborate glass components, emphasising a classic, analogue luxury rather than ephemeral digital interfaces.

Setting the Luce at this exorbitant price serves as a deliberate strategy to uphold exceptional brand exclusivity, particularly in light of a general market decline for battery-electric hypercars. The forthcoming vehicle draws substantial aesthetic influence from the highly popular Purosangue crossover, effectively merging aggressive aerodynamics with grand-touring functionality. By combining unparalleled electric power with custom, Apple-inspired industrial design, Ferrari is effectively creating a wholly new, distinctly exclusive category for the future of high-performance driving.
