With its interplay of texture, light, and dimensionality, the Space Timer Gravity reads less as decoration—and more as mechanical architecture.

Chronoswiss, previously renowned for its traditional regulator timepieces and skeletonised chronographs, has adopted a more vibrant, expressive, and illustrative design approach. The Space Timer collection is pivotal to this transformation, reinterpreting the conventional regulator display into striking designs influenced by the cosmos. With the new Space Timer Gravity edition, Chronoswiss emphasises not celestial bodies or mythology, but rather the fundamental factor that governs all gravity!

The Space Timer Gravity features a 44mm stainless steel case that retains the iconic Chronoswiss design, characterised by straight lugs, a knurled bezel, and the distinctive onion crown. The coating is matte grey, likely to minimise reflections and ensure the dial remains the focal point. The 15.2mm thickness ensures that the watch is perceived both visually and physically in harmonious proportions. The watch features sapphire crystals on both sides and a screw-down caseback, providing a water resistance of 100 meters.

The dial has 63 components, integrating partially hand-guilloché surfaces with laser-engraved parts and color-shifting CVD coatings that transition between deep green and blue based on lighting conditions. The left side of the dial's surface is laser-textured with NASA photos to replicate a cratered lunar terrain in delicate relief. The hand-guilloché component, as stated by the brand, is intended to inspire imagery reminiscent of a perspective from orbit.

The regulator display of Chronoswiss is preserved, albeit reinterpreted. The hour hand is positioned off-center, nearer to 12 o’clock, although the minute and second hands are centrally affixed. Transparent ITR2 (premium composite) rings for the hour and date indicators seem to hover above the dial, exposing the openworked gear train underneath. Super-LumiNova ceramic cylinders indicate the hours, while the moon phase globe is within the date subdial ring.

The Space Timer is powered by the automated Chronoswiss Calibre C.308, which is derived from the ETA 2895 and features an in-house regulating mechanism. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and providing 42 hours of power reserve, it is observable through the sapphire caseback, including perlage, polished elements, and a skeletonised rotor. The timepiece is affixed on a grey nubuck leather strap, secured with a pin buckle. Production is restricted to 50 units, underscoring the exclusivity of the Space Timer idea. This edition is priced at €23,400 (including taxes). For further information and to submit an online order, please visit chronoswiss.com.
